Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion’s never fail. They are new every morning.Lamentations 3 v 22
When our son was born we spent the first two weeks in Intensive Care. The beeps of the machines, the 24 hour glaring lights, the fear was all consuming. He was on machines to help him breathe and his tiny life was in the balance. This time was one of our lowest yet despite feeling empty and faint hearted we leaned on one another, and on the truth that God’s love was bigger than anything else we were feeling.
The tide turned one evening when Ash was driving back to the hospital, exhausted he saw all the many traffic lights along the A64 turn green. One after the other, he heard God say; “all will be OK from here on in – your son is well”. At the same time in the hospital, alone and afraid the nurses rushed in to my room announcing Berkley had pulled out his tubes and was breathing on his own and would I be able to feed him myself for the first time. The joy and relief was immense.
