Dayspring Church, Leeds – A lively community Church – part of the Pioneer network of Churches

Please note that in January we are meeting on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.

• Sunday February 5th at GARFORTH MINERS’ WELFARE HALL, Main Street. Garforth LS25 1AA at 10.30 for tea and coffee and the service at 11.00.
• Sunday February 19th at GARFORTH MINERS’ WELFARE HALL, Main Street. Garforth LS25 1AA at 10.30.
• Sunday March 4th at GARFORTH MINERS’ WELFARE HALL, Main Street. Garforth LS25 1AA at 10.30.
• Sunday March 18th at GARFORTH ACADEMY, Lidgett Lane, Leeds LS25 1LJ at 10.30.

BAND OF BLOKES - the next meeting will be on the 25th Feb. at 9.00. Venue tbc. Topics to be discussed are :-

• Is the approach to church too touchy-feely, too non-directed, fruit and veggie rather than raw and meaty for many men?
• What should the Christian approach be to management/employee conflicts in the workplace in these times of economic decline, falling income and job prospects and increasing inequality?    All men welcome.

WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER - the annual interdenominational service will be at St. Benedict’s  on the 2nd March at 7.00. Please come along and support this event which is focusing on Malaysia with the theme of ‘Let Justice Prevail’.

GENESIS COMMUNITY PROJECT QUIZ - there will be a quiz held jointly with Baraka  as a fund raiser. Date: 17th Feb. Venue: Baraka Coffee House, Main Street, Garforth. Time: 7.00. Cost £2.00. Come as part of a team (4-6) or on your own and we will find you a team.

COME AND PRAY - A group of people meets regularly to pray before Baseline for the service and for those who will be coming. It runs from 9.30 to 10.15am.  Please come and join us – remember - The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5 v 13.

PRAY AND PARTY  WEEKEND - the prayer and fast will begin at 5.00 this Friday and the party to break the fast will be from 5.00 – 8.00 on Saturday at the Welfare Hall. Drinks will be provided: if your surname begins with the letters A to M please would you bring savoury food (enough for 6-8) and if it begins with N -Z, please would you bring sweet. If you wish to have alcohol, please come supplied with your own.
