About us

We are Dayspring Church, a part of the Pioneer network of churches.
We are a bunch of imperfect people, trying to follow Jesus and make a difference to the people we meet.

We were established in 1984 by a small group of Christians in Garforth, planting churches in Kippax and East Leeds under the banner of Dayspring. Then we came together as one congregation in June  1997 meeting regularly in Garforth Community College.

Our office is at 62c Main Street in Garforth and there is someone in every Friday. Feel free to drop by. The office is host to some of our evening gatherings and youth activities.

Our big gatherings are called Baseline; these take place at Garforth Community College, just down the road from the office. These are at 10.30am usually on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month. We worship God, have a laugh, a coffee and hear stories from around our community, check us out – you will be made very welcome.
We don’t have a ‘main leader’, ‘pastor’ or ‘vicar’ so we run various teams to make ‘Dayspring stuff happen’.

“THE HUB”
Ann, Mike , Phil and Gill  plus a few volunteers here and there – they are responsible for the day-to-day running of all things Dayspring.

“THE ELDERING TEAM”
The Eldering team, (not the elderly team!) are responsible for the longer term vision of Dayspring,  more the “where are we going”, “what is God saying to us” type stuff. They are Lee, Ann, Toby and Sheila.

Plus we have a Pastoral team,  Prophetic team and of course PA people, stewards, leaders, speakers and helpers who fill in the gaps too – they are our favourite!
